Description
This distinct 2,319 metre (7,610 ft) peak is one of the most recognizable in the Coast Mountains due to its deep black colour and sharp, tooth-like appearance. The moderate hike leads through a sub-alpine meadow and forest to a rocky slope and eventually onto the volcanic pillar for the difficult final ascent. Overall the trail gains 1,735 m (5,690 ft) over 13.5 km (8.4 mi) from the trailhead and hikers should plan for an 8-10 hour return hike. Most stay at Taylor Meadows to break up the trek.
